Science Behind Training
Anatomy
The every day function of the human body is an integrated and multidimensional system. Each muscle has their own point of origin, point of insertion, and action. Understanding these principles makes it possible to specify and directly train these muscles.
Physiology
Exercise physiology is targeted at analyzing, enhancing, and maintaining mental and physical health. Exercise physiologists design and deliver exercise routines for those with specific fitness concerns, such as an injury, illness, or focus on athletic performance.
Biomechanics
Applied physics. Forces act on the musculoskeletal system and the body's tissues respond to these forces. Using the forces involved in the production of movement and posture, I can train your body to maintain proper form and influence your neuromuscular system to keep you in alignment.
Exercise Science
The foundational knowledge of all fitness professionals. The appllication of all body sciences to understand the acute and chronic affects of stress on the body (yes, the body recognizes exercise as stress). This allows me to design appropriate, effective, and safe long-term exercise programs.

Nutrition
Do you ever think of what drives your food choices? Or are you on autopilot as you stand in line at the closest fast food spot? You obviously need food to survive, but beyond your basic instinct to eat, there are many other factors that affect what goes into your stomach.
